Application Deadlines

  • November 30: Early Bird 1 – Discount: EUR 6,000 (Admission test* can be submitted until Jan 31)
  • January 31: Early Bird 2 – Discount: EUR 4,500 (Admission test* can be submitted until March 31)
  • March 31: Early Bird 3 – Discount: EUR 1,500  (Admission test* can be submitted until June 30)
  • May 31: final deadline for international (non-EU) applicants (Admission test* can be submitted until August 15)
  • June 30: final deadline for EU applicants and non-EU applicants not requiring a visa to Germany (Admission test* can be submitted until August 15)

Application Process

Step 1:

YOU complete and submit your online application*

WE review your application and give you our first feedback

Step 3:

YOU will be invited for an interview with one of our HHL professors

Step 4:

WE communicate our decision within 7-10 days

Step 5:

YOU accept our offer by signing the contract and paying the commitment fee within 2 weeks

Admission Criteria

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in any field from an institution recognized by the German Central Office for Foreign Education
  • At least 3 years of postgraduate work experience
  • Competitive GMAT/GRE/HHL Entry Test score
  • Proof of very good English skills (e.g. TOEFL 90+ ibt, TOEFL Essentials 9+, IELTS 7+, TOEIC 850+, Cambridge ESOL Level C or Bachelor´s program in English, semester abroad in english-speaking area or English as official language of the company)

    Application Checklist

    Are you ready to start your HHL journey? Have a look at our check-list to make sure you have all the required documents ready:

    Mandatory documents to submit with your application:

    • Curriculum vitae
    • Letter of motivation
    • Final transcript and degree certificates of all completed degree programs
    • Passport photo

    Further application documents are (those can be submitted during the application process)*:

    • GMAT/GRE/HHL Entry Test Score (our GMAT code is ZCB-P6-01 and our GRE code is 4061)
    • Proof of very good English skills
    • Proof of a minimum of 3 years relevant practical work experience

    Applicants from China, India and Vietnam need an APS certificate in order to be able to study at a German university. Please visit APS China, APS India or APS Vietnam for further information. Please check the provided links for deadlines to apply.

    *The early bird discount is offered to those who have uploaded all mandatory documents and submitted their application by these deadlines and have successfully passed the interview as well as the GMAT/GRE within 1 month of the deadlines. In order to qualify for the early bird discount, the payment of the commitment fee must be transferred within 2 months of the deadlines.

      Interview

      The personal selection process at HHL includes a 30 to 45-minute interview. This interview will take place in MS Teams.
      After you have successfully submitted your application and meet the admission criteria we will arrange an individual appointment with you. The interview will be held online and is conducted by the academic director or another HHL professor. In this English-language interview we would like to learn more about your personal motivation to pursue one of our full-time MBA programs.

        A key requirement for admission to HHL’s Master and MBA programs is a standardized test like the GMAT, GRE, or the HHL Entry Test. This test helps evaluate candidates’ suitability for advanced business studies. It is the standardized part of the application, enabling fair comparisons between diverse applicants.
